Psych

Finally after months of busy Sundays and bad timing Psych Games was finally a go. These games took root from watching tonnes of running man. There were many difficulties trying to find a time that suited as many people as possible and trying to book the church to use. Also as I thought booking it too early meant there would be straddlers like adults and their children. It gave me a little more time to setup but it cut around 20 minutes off our starting time.

Starting was a little rocky. I had originally only invited a few people just as a trial and so I wouldn't need to explain things to too many people. However there were some people still left who wanted to there but had no idea what was happening. The games was something that everyone who was there was suppose to join in so that if anything was embarrassing was done that least everyone had to be involved. Trying to include them was difficult because they didn't know it be 2 hours and there were those who had to leave in half hour to an hour so had to try spread them out on teams. Eventually it worked out however three of the original invited people were out getting lunch ... but I couldn't wait any longer to start.

The teams were randomized which was interesting. Some people suggested team swaps but the point of the randomizing was so people would work with new people. Each team had to come up with a captain and a team name. The names ended being Two Becca, Team Draw on Your Face, and Team Manda. You'll find out why one team was called Draw on Your Face later.

There were more bumps in the road as originally the games were designed for 9 to 12 people to play, however with the additional people there were 15 people not including those that had gone to get lunch. This made it difficult to run all in games so those had to be cut down. First game was Photo Jump which was quite the success. Thing is I couldn't get the photos to show up on the projector ... so hate using Macs ... think I'm the only person to crash a Mac twice in a row. Second game was Buzz Chat (aka Alarm Talk). This ended up going forever as there were just too many people. However it was really fun so I just let everyone play.

Chicken Fight and Ping Pong Hole in One (Beer Pong with a Paddle) weren't great. Chicken Fight was too tiring. Ping Pong took too long. Also the fact the lunch turned up. Took them a whole hour and by then everyone was starving so they took a food break. Bit confused what to do with the food break but before long we started back up again. Next was All in Dodgeball which was fun. I think last survivor was Michelle ... there one team which had a large number of surviving players but this made the other two team wipe them out. A game suggestion by Jason was Palm Blitz. This was quite a weird versus game but it was fun to watch people trying to dodge attackers hands.

Blind Man Catch was a game I created myself. This consisted of one person blindfolded trying to catch beanbags thrown to them. This turned out to be a great spectator game. How good is it watching a blindfolded person pelted with beanbags?!? However there was a bit too much pelting and some beanbags were sidelined. Well I did sew them myself and they were one of my first projects so they were bound to end up that way. Last game was suppose to be a mini running man elimination game with bracelets instead of back nametags but by this point people were tired. However everyone ended up volunteering to play Team Stretch. Everyone was trying to stretch their legs as far as possible on Friday for some reason so everyone thought of this. Ended up fun and sweet. However I did try to measure out the length and instead metal cut myself on the measuring tape.

Because people left early some people ended up escaping punishment which was Face Drawing. Winning team drew on last team. There were people who refused which wasn't much fun but there were also people who were good sport. Hopefully everyone had fun and I'll see to doing another one later in the year.

Pain Driven

Yes I know these posts all seem a bit sickly titled but I guess it makes it more interesting XD. Decided while I'm still sick I'd post as much as possible. Also arms are still too sore to play games.

Most people who know me know that I have quite a high pain threshold. Well it didn't happen overnight. Basically it manifested over years of basketballs to the head/face (damn I'm short so how come I get hit in the head?), friendly corkage to all limbs, and soccer balls to the stomach and lower areas ... ><.
Anyhow this is the first time I've experienced sunburns. Actually quite surprised that I burned because I hardly ever remember to put on sunscreen and I've been to Thailand and their sun gets really hot (yes I know its the same sun as we get here XD just feels hotter). Didn't even realize that I had been burnt until later that night. So yes currently I am sunburnt approximately 45% of my body. From top to bottom my whole face is red (not a sight to see), top of wrists all the way back to shoulders, the entire shoulders including the top of the chest, from shoulders all the way down to the top of my back waist, and finally the back of my calves. Luckily for me not all of it is painful. Unfortunately for me the parts that hurt are the wrists all the way over my shoulders and to my back waist (guess I didn't train that area in pain ><). The feeling is quite similar to pins and needles but about ten times worse and the area is much larger. But not like pins and needles is that the pain is only really there if it comes in contact with a physical object.
Boardrash pretty much feels the same. Its not red like sunburn but more like lots of pinpoint bruises. Not the best thing to get both boardrash and sunburn at the same time. Pretty much impossible to sleep properly. Good thing not burnt on the rear end or I'd probably have to stand to do anything.
But that's not all I have. I also have a sore throat brought on by a virus. Being a cold like sympton I wanted to keep warm but having sunburn and boardrash I wanted to cool the sores. So it was quite a dilemma. Thankfully I managed quite a few hours of sleep.

It wasn't my worst nights sleep. Sleeping with handcuffs has to be somewhere on top. Sleeping on the hard church floor without a blanket and just in a t-shirt pretty much up there too. Friends incomplete house on just a mattress in a shirt was pretty uncomfortable. There's probably a few more that I can't remember at the moment.

Getting some medical help with the sores. Got some syrup for the sore throat (no its not honey). Got some soothing spray thingy that sort of hurts when you spray it on ...

I'm usually pretty resilient to disease but with the late wave of sickness I'm feeling abit old. The dreaded twenty three is dawning. Damn it where's my youth gone ><.

Killing myself

Hi anyone who's come across this blog or whoever I've forced to read my annoying comments on my own life ... or other peoples lives XD. For someone who talks so much about shit all I never could figure out why I didn't have a blog of my own. But then it hit me. All my free time was used playing games ><. Guess that sort of thing is quite time consuming. Blogs also seems like quite a time consuming activity too. So question is why is Peter writing a blog posting instead of playing all his games??? Did Peter's house catch on fire destroying all his valuable games??? Did Peter lose the use of his hands so can't hold a controller to save his life (so how is he typing this post?)??? Or does this have to do with the title of this post which would probably mean this is some sort of suicide note??? Well wait a sec and I'll tell you about it.

Yes I know the title is abit morbid but hear me out. It all started Thursday night when I had a homemade pizza which my mom had made with her new pizza making gizmo. Straight after that I felt my throat clamming up so I'm guessing like most people would do I went and drank a few glasses of water. Figures with my luck it didn't help. So for the first time in like months I decide to got to sleep before the stroke of midnight.
The next morning was pretty much a mini hell. Throat was dry, nose was blocked (try breathing with those two problems), head was spinning, and it felt like I hadn't had a wink of sleep. So basically it felt like I couldn't breathe or think which are probably only things that make me certain I'm alive. Seeing how I couldn't really get up with my head spinning I tried to doze off for a bit longer. Midday and my head felt better so I was like great ... but now my brain can process the fact that I can't breathe properly. Thinking that if I tried to sleep I would probably wind up dead from lack of oxygen I opted to watch the woman's semi-finals. This is probably the only time I've ever watched a full game of tennis. After the game was over I tried to sleep some more until I had to make my way to youth group. By the time Youth group started I pretty much breathed normally except for a slight rasp in my voice. Like any good friend I accused a few people here and there as to who had given me this sickness but other than that Youth group went well and after some not so lengthy preparations, a trip to Torquay for surfing and fun was organized. Despite just getting better from that morning I couldn't pass off a chance to surf. In a sense I was trying to relive my youth XD which makes me sound old ... Being a lowly L-plater the easiest way to meet up was to crash at a friend's place so after we had a late dinner in my friendly neighborhood I dropped home and filled a bag with random things that I might need. Everything seemed well enough when I got to my friend's place and he even had a proper bed for me because I somewhat expected to sleep on a couch or floor.
The next morning arrived and it was the same as the previous morning. But this time I forced myself up and to my surprise most of the symptoms disappeared. Only the lack of sleep and the more raspier voice kept me remembering that I was sick. Even though we had organized to meet up at eight it wasn't until ten that everyone was present. The trip to Torquay was about two hours so I managed about and hour sleep. When we got there four of us grabbed longboards and most of the rest grabbed bodyboards. Everyone who got a board got a wetsuit except me. This turned out not to be the best idea. The decision was because I used to surf shortboards and with a shortboard one cannot get boardrash. Longboards are much easier to get on and is a lot softer. They also have a textured surface which means there is no need for wax. But this also means that the coarse surface causes boardrash. Its large size also means it takes some effort dragging them to the beach. Dragging the boards to the beach took awhile but worth it as we grabbed a decent spot in the crowds of people. I naturally took to the sea because there was someone already teaching the newbie surfers. Having a look at any opening in the sea of people it didn't look all that flash. Came back in to check on the other and then it was back out together to scope for a opening. We found a decent spot and it wasn't long before I got on my board. Weee I'm young again XD. Problem was that was probably the best ride of the whole day. I managed a few more times on the board but as the day went on the openings disappeared and a few collision happened here and there. Also the more times I got onto my board the more I could feel boardrash coming on. Thinking I could just put it off for a t-shirt later I surfed on. It was so peaceful between each wave as I lay on the board sunbathing (which also turned out not to be as good as it seemed). Once the boardrash set in I decided to head in for a t-shirt. It wasn't until I put it on that the pain was too much to bare surfing anymore. Thankfully I was satisfied with the surfing and it wasn't going to get any better with the number of people out there. When everyone was satisfied we travelled round Torquay to buy food for our barbeque. By this time I had somewhat lost my voice but just like me I refused to shutup. We had a great barbeque but the wind was so strong that it took out half of our cutlery and abit of the salad. After we finished of the rest of the night playing beach cricket until we couldn't even see the ball anymore. It was so fun. The night didn't finish there though. We went to the Melbourne Central to see Twilight. When we reached the city I realized I was literally burnt from head to heel on the back from lying on the surfboard. At the same time the boardrash seemed to have gotten worse ><. So we watched the movie in the halfpipe which wasn't very comfortable especially with the sunburn. Twilight wasn't as bad as some people made it out to be but it wasn't the best movie :P. So ending on that note when I got home I decided I was way to out of it to go to the church next day.
Somehow even with a burnt back and boardrashed stomach I managed afew hours sleep but was awoken by a phone call from people who wanted me to open up the church >< (why am I expected to be first at church). I slept abit more before I got some water to drink. My mom freaked out when she saw my sunburns and boardrash. She made such a ruckus about how I should look after myself *sigh* parents. Anyways got a few more hours of sleep by rolling back and forth keeping the pain spread thinly.

And now here I am. My arms are sore from both sunburn and overuse in surfing so I put off gaming and seeing how I haven't touched a game since Thursday I needed something to do. So came the birth of this blog.

Oh yeah so the titles basically about the self torture of myself XD. I'm still pretty badly off. Spread some vitamin E stuff so its just mildly hurts and I've finally decided not to talk so often if I don't need to. Hopefully a day or two and I'll be better. Anyways this post is long enough. Don't think I'll ever write something as long again. Hopefully it was a good read. If not then meh.

Post Happily.
